FESS - a revolutionary technology

The principle of operation of the FESS consists in:

• efficient cooling down
• isolating fire from oxygen supply
• smoke emission into the ambient air
• temperature reduction.

Water mist is made up from highly atomised water droplets with diameter of 100mm or less. Since large quantities of atomised water develop huge overall area, the water mostly evaporates in no time at all. While evaporating, water cools down the environment it is in. Once water has evaporated, it increases its volume ca. 1,600 times, pushing out the oxygen and quenches flames. An optimised water supply results in its very low consumption. As the affected scene is subjected to a low water impact, it does not suffer from additional damages by fire fighting. The FESS is compatible with all the triggering methods, i.e. manually, by heat detectors or by a centralised fire detection system.
